Barrie Selects Petr Beranek In Import Draft

Barrie, ON- The Barrie Colts announced today that they have completed a trade with the Owen Sound Attack for the 11th overall selection in the 2010 CHL Import Draft.

The Colts traded defenseman Matt Stanisz, a fourth round draft pick in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection, and their 58th overall pick in this year's Import Draft.

The Colts then selected left-winger Petr Beranek with the 11th pick in the Import Draft. Beranek played for the Tappara Under-20's in Finland Junior A last season.

The 6', 190 pound forward was born in Brno, Czech Republic.

Stanisz played in at least 63 games in each of the last three seasons, finishing with a remarkable +45 rating in the 2009-10 season. Stanisz was Barrie's ninth round pick back in 2006, and had a career-high three goals and 20 assists in 2008-09.
