Barrie Homers Twice, Gives Rox Second Straight Walk-Off Win

St. Cloud, MN - The St. Cloud Rox followed up Saturday night's thrilling walk-off victory at the Rock Pile by doing it yet again on Sunday afternoon.
In the bottom of the ninth inning and the game tied 6-6, Jack Barrie (Northwestern Ohio) sent the Rox home winners once again with a walk-off home run to left field.
The home run was Barrie's second of the game, after he belted a three-run home run in the third inning. Barrie finished the game going 3-for-5 with two runs scored, four RBI and two home runs.
Ricardo Sanchez (Arkansas at Pine Bluff) added a nice performance for St. Cloud, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, including a two-RBI single in the fourth inning to put the Rox back out in front at the time. Ryland Kerr (Eastern Kentucky) went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI, while Gus Steiger went 2-for-4 with one run scored.
John Matthews (Kent State) pitched one shutout inning in relief in his 2018 Rox debut to pick up the win. Carlo Graffeo (Minnesota State, Mankato) pitched the first 3.2 innings, giving up one earned run and striking out one, while Evan Johnson (Creighton) pitched 3.2 innings and Bobby Gauvreau (Minnesota State, Mankato) pitched one inning in relief.
Now winners of two straight, St. Cloud will return to action at 7:05 p.m. Monday back at the Rock Pile. The game will be Rox Bottle Opener Giveaway presented by Grain Belt Premium, where the first 300 fans 21 years old and over will receive a Rox bottle opener.
The Rox are in their seventh season of Northwoods League Baseball in 2018. Single game and group tickets for the entire season are on sale now.
