BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Despite an RBI-double from Nick Madrigal, the Birmingham Barons (18-12, 45-54) fell to the Chattanooga Lookouts (10-22, 46-55) by a 9-1 final Wednesday night at Regions Field.

Madrigal's run-scoring double in the fifth represented Birmingham's lone run of the game as the Barons struggled to solve Lookouts starter Packy Naughton (W, 5-7).

Naughton worked through the seventh and allowed just one run on five hits. The left-hander struck out a pair to earn his fifth victory of the season and third in three starts against the Barons.

Lookouts third baseman Jonathan India led the offensive charge with a three-hit night at the plate. The Cincinnati Reds' No. 3 prospect singled in the first, delivered an RBI-base knock in the fourth to extend Chattanooga's lead to 2-0 and singled once more in the sixth. India, who earned a promotion from Hi-A Daytona also added one stolen base.

The Lookouts opened up a 4-0 advantage before Madrigal's RBI-single put the Barons on the board in the fifth.

Barons Left-hander John Parke (L, 2-1) suffered his first loss in his sixth start at the Double-A level. Parke allowed four runs (three earned) on eight hits and struck out four before he gave way to right-handers Alec Hansen and Vince Arobio out of the bullpen.

The relief duo could not tame Chattanooga's bats and surrendered five runs in 4.1 innings of work, including a three-run home run off the bat of Ibandel Isabel, who paces all of Double-A ball with 24 home runs. Eight have come against the Barons.

The Barons and Lookouts will continue their five-game set Thursday as Birmingham sends right-hander Blake Battenfield (3-2, 4.70) opposes Chattanooga right-hander Tony Santillan (2-7, 5.01).

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT at Regions Field and the game will be broadcast via WJQX-FM 100.5.
