York Revolution News Release
Tonight's game between the York Revolution and the Lancaster Barnstormers at Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster has been postponed due to rain. The game was called, following a rain delay that lasted nearly an hour and a half. The delay began as the umpires approached home plate for the exchange of lineup cards prior to first pitch.
The postponement sets up a twi-night doubleheader scheduled to begin at 5:05 p.m. Wednesday night. The teams will play two seven-inning games, with roughly a half hour break between the contests.
York sends right-hander Dave Gil (1-2, 3.29) to the mound in the opener opposed by righty Gustavo Martinez (3-3, 4.32) for the Barnstormers. The Revs will go with lefty Chris Steinborn (2-5, 5.47) in the nightcap, with the Barnstormers sending lefty Clayton Andrews (1-2, 9.16) to the hill.
The doubleheader marks the final two times that the "War of the Roses" series is played in Lancaster this season, with the war shifting to York during the season's Second Half. Lancaster currently holds a 4-3 advantage in the battle for the Community Cup.
