Atlantic League All-Star Voting To Begin This Week

LANCASTER, Pa.-Fan voting for the 2007 Atlantic League All-Star teams, presented by Faulkner Chevrolet/Suzuki, will begin this week Atlantic League officials announced today. The vote will be held on-line through the league website and can be accessed by league fans through each team's homepage, including www.LancasterBarnstormers.com.
Fan voting for the All-Star teams will conclude Sunday, July 1. All-Star rosters will be announced on Monday, July 2. The 2007 Atlantic League All-Star Game will be held on July 11 at Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster, Pa.
"So far this season, 27 of our players have joined high-level clubs in affiliated systems and we have many former Major Leaguers on our rosters," Atlantic League executive director Joe Klein said. "We look forward to again featuring the best players from America's top independent baseball league at the All-Star Game in Lancaster."
The game will feature all-stars from the North Division, which consists of Bridgeport, Long Island, Newark and the Road Warriors competing against all-stars from the South Division with teams located in Camden, Lancaster, Somerset and York.
One player who performs at the highest level during the All-Star Game will be awarded the Stephen R. Shilling Most Valuable Player Award. The award is named in honor of late Camden Riversharks owner Stephen R. Shilling.
A limited number of box seat tickets are still available for the 2007 Atlantic League All-Star Game. Tickets can be purchased online at www.LancasterBarnstormers.com, over the phone by calling (717) 509-HITS or in person at the Clipper Magazine Stadium box office.
