Iowa Barnstormers News Release

DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers have signed offensive lineman Tyler Weterrings to the 2023 roster, Head Coach Dave Mogensen announced today.

Weterrings (6-8, 315, Emory & Henry) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his rookie Indoor Football League (IFL) season. Collegiately, Weterrings spent four seasons at Emory and Henry College, appearing in 38 games with the Wasps. Throughout his collegiate career, Weterrings earned numerous honors including All-ODAC Second Team in his sophomore season before earning First Team All-ODAC in his junior and senior seasons. Weterrings was also named to VaSID All-State Second Team in his junior season and VaSID All-State First Team as a senior.

"Tyler is someone I've had my eye one for a while," said Head Coach Mogensen. "He is a guy that really grew into his frame to become a dominating offensive lineman during his college career, he also can long snap at a near NFL level - it's pretty amazing to see a guy his size, snapping then running down and making a tackle, as he did a ton in college. We think Tyler is a guy that will step in and compete for a starting spot from Day 1 and can use his time with the Barnstormers to reach greater heights in football"

Weterrings will enter the Barnstormers 2023 Training Camp in the Spring.
