Lancaster Stormers News Release
The War of the Roses rivalry is coming to Lancaster for the first time this season! The Barnstormers will play the York Revolution in a four-game series at Clipper Magazine Stadium beginning Thursday night and ending Sunday afternoon. It's part of a July 4 celebration that includes food, music, fireworks and Cylo's birthday!
Thursday night will bring the Barnstormers' first CODE RED of the summer. Fans are encouraged to wear red to support the home team as it tries to defeat its Route 30 rival. The night also features a rally towel giveaway as well as Dollar Dogs courtesy of Kunzler. Hot dogs are $1 all night.
Friday is for Parrotheads to rejoice! It's Margaritaville Night. There will be a pre-game performance by Jimmy Buffet tribute band "Jimmy and the Parrots." Nothing says summer like the unique songs of one of America's favorite songwriters. Festivities also include a Hawaiian jersey auction courtesy of Wheatland Federal Credit Union. Following the game, fans can bid on jerseys right off the players' backs with proceeds going to SALSA and Playball USA charities. Gates open early at 5 p.m.
The Barnstormers will be celebrating Independence Day in style with an extended July 4 post-game fireworks display sponsored by Kellogg's Saturday night. Also, scratch off cards will be given away with prizes to the first 3,000 fans. Game time is 6:35.
Sunday marks Cylo's 5th birthday presented by Willow Valley. The Barnstormers' bovine mascot will welcome DownTown from the York Revolution and Coco of the Hershey Bears, along with other friends as he hosts his annual party. Game time is 1:35.
The Barnstormers are 5-1 against the Revolution this season. All of those games were played in York at Sovereign Bank Stadium. The Freedom Division rivals will meet 20 times in all, including 10 games at Clipper Magazine Stadium. The winner of the season series claims the Community Cup trophy, which currently resides in York. Tickets for all games are available by logging onto www.lancasterbarnstormers.com or by calling 717-509-HITS during business hours.
