Iowa Barnstormers News Release
DES MOINES, IA - The Iowa Barnstormers today announced the arena football team has agreed to a broadcast partnership with Mediacom Communications that will bring live telecasts of all eight home football games to a statewide audience through the cable provider's Connections Channel 22.
Mediacom and the Barnstormers secured the services of veteran sportscasters Larry Morgan and Larry Cotlar for the broadcasts. Morgan will serve as play-by-play announcer, while Cotlar will serve as on-field sideline reporter and host of the post-game show.
"This is a great partnership for the Barnstormers" said John Pettit, the team's General Manager. "Whether at the game or watching from home, this agreement ensures that Barnstormers fans from all areas of the state won't miss a minute of the hard-hitting action from inside Wells Fargo Arena."
Morgan was named 2008 Iowa Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscasters & Sportswriters Association, and Cotlar was recognized as the 2007 Iowa Sportscaster of the Year. Cotlar co-hosts a popular morning sports show on KXNO Radio.
"Mediacom is pleased to be part of the Barnstormers return to Iowa, and we recruited Iowa's top broadcasting talent to join our team so that we can provide the best in local and regional sports," said Ed Pardini, Mediacom's senior vice president. "With a roster that includes players from Britt, Cedar Falls, and other Iowa communities, interest in watching the Iowa Barnstormers will certainly increase from now through July and into the future."
The Barnstormers' home opener is Monday, April 14 at 7:05 p.m. against visiting Lexington. Single game tickets start as low as $12 per seat, and season tickets are still available, starting as low as $80 and can be ordered at www.theiowabarnstormers.com or (515) 633-BALL.
