Spokane Shock News Release

Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that DL Justin Warren has been added to the 2008 roster. In other Shock news, DB Nick Denbeigh and Willie Freeman have been released from the team. The Shock also traded OL Seth Cook to the South Georgia Wildcats and WR Davin Dennis to the Peoria Pirates. Both players were traded for future considerations.

Warren, 6-3 227, finished a decorated career at Texas A&M in 2006 and signed a contract with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2007 before being released due to injury.

During his career as an Aggie, Warren was selected as a two-time All Big-12 pick as a linebacker. As a four-year starter, Warren collected 278 total tackles - including 93 his senior season, leading the team in that category - with 7.5 sacks and 15.5 tackles for a loss.

"We are excited to have Justin Warren join our team," Head Coach Adam Shackleford said. "We have been pursuing him for a long time because he has proven to us that he is every bit as good as his statistics from Texas A&M."

Shackleford expects Warren to play in this weekend's home opener against the Stockton Lightning. Tickets are still available for the game and can be purchased through TicketsWest. Season tickets are also still available and can be purchased by contacting the Shock at 509 242-SHOCK.
