State College Spikes News Release

(STATE COLLEGE, PA) - The State College Spikes return to Medlar Field at Lubrano Park for a season-long, six-game homestand starting Tuesday, August 9 and running through Sunday, August 14. The homsetand will feature the return of two special nights, as fans can bring their dogs out for Bark in the Park Night on Thursday, August 11 then Paint the Park Pink to help the fight against breast cancer on Saturday, August 13.

Two FIREWORKS nights, including the first-ever 3-D FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA, are also on the slate as the Spikes take on the Aberdeen IronBirds (Baltimore Orioles) and Connecticut Tigers (Detroit Tigers) in a pair of three-game series.

The fun begins on Tuesday evening, when the Spikes start a set of three games against Aberdeen at 7:05 p.m. with the first of three straight Columbia Gas 811 Nights. Diamond Club seats will be available for just $8.11 for the length of the series against the IronBirds. Plus, on Wednesday, the first 1,000 fans receive a Spikes Garden Gnome presented by Sanitary Maintenanceon Guys Night Out. The Spikes then cap off the series against the IronBirds with the second Bark in the Park night of the season, presented by Metzger Animal Hospital and NEWSRADIO 103, as fans can bring their favorite four-legged friends to experience the ballpark fun. Bark in the Park Night will also feature a special appearance by "Team Ghost Riders" and their team of monkeys and dogs performing throughout the evening.

The Spikes then kick off the weekend with the spectacular 3-D FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA, presented by Heimer Eye Care, on Friday as Connecticut comes to town for a 7:05 p.m. matchup. Fans can then participate in the annual Paint the Park Night, presented by Mount Nittany Health System and the Centre Daily Times. The Spikes will wear special pink jerseys, which fans can bid on throughout the game in a Jersey-off-the-Back Auction to benefit the Breast Care Center at Mount Nittany Medical Center. The homestand concludes on Sunday at 6:05 p.m. with post-game FIREWORKS presented by CNB Bank and WCPA AM 900.
