
Bark in the Park, $1 Beers, Human Cannonball on Tap for Spikes Fans

(STATE COLLEGE, PA) - The State College Spikes return to Medlar Field at Lubrano Park for a six-game homestand from Tuesday, June 28 to Sunday, July 3, featuring a jam-packed promotional slate. Highlights include the return of $1 Beer Thursday to go with the first Bark in the Park night of the year, a Team Autograph Session, and a special appearance by Human Cannonball with a Post-Game Blastoff on Sunday.
The Spikes will face the Brooklyn Cyclones (New York Mets) and Mahoning Valley Scrappers (Cleveland Indians) during the six-game run. Brooklyn provides the opposition for three 7:05 p.m. games Tuesday through Thursday, while Mahoning Valley comes to town Friday through Sunday.
Thursday, June 30, fans can bring their favorite four-legged friends to the park on for the first of three Bark in the Park Nights this season, presented by Metzger Animal Hospital and NEWSRADIO 1390 WRSC. The night will include several dog-related promotions and activities throughout the evening, including dog-themed in-game entertainment and music before and during the 7:05 p.m. game against Brooklyn. That same night will mark the return of $1 Beer Thursday, presented by BIG Froggy 101. Fans can purchase 12-oz. select domestic draft beers for just $1 apiece from 6-8 p.m.
Fans can then enjoy a tremendous Fourth of July weekend at the ballpark, finishing on Sunday, July 3 as David "The Bullet" Smith, Jr. brings his record-breaking Human Cannonball act to Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Best Line Powersports, home of the new Indian Motorcycle of State College, presents this one-of-a-kind event, with a post-game "Blast-Off" following the 6:05 p.m. game against Mahoning Valley. The night will also feature a preview of 4th Fest with the launch of a fantastic FIREWORKS show, presented by the PA Lottery.
Following Sunday's performance, fans can also catch the Human Cannonball for two shows as part of Central PA 4th Fest on Monday.
The homestand begins on Tuesday, June 28 with Bellies and Baseball Night, presented by Pregnancy Resource Clinic. Join the Spikes in welcoming pregnant ladies and their supporters to the ballpark for a night for those who the stork has blessed. Pregnant women and their supporters can take advantage of a $3 Bullpen Box ticket offer with the promo code "YOUMATTER," and those who use this offer can throw out a first pitch at the game.
Bellies and Baseball Night also features local resource providers providing information on pregnancy, parenting and more, as well as craving stations at the ballpark. Plus, any pregnant woman at Tuesday night's game that goes into labor gets free Spikes season tickets for life.
The fun continues with the debut of Half-Craft Wednesday presented by 93.7 The BUS, with half-price craft beers from 6-8 p.m. on June 29. Fans can also enjoy half-price Outfield Bleacher seats and half-price medium sodas all game long during the 7:05 matchup against Brooklyn.
In addition, fans can meet and greet the Spikes as Fullington Bus Company presents the action on Friday, July 1, when the first 1,000 fans will receive a Team Poster Giveaway, and all fans can participate in a Team Autograph Session with the players from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. before the 7:05 game against Mahoning Valley.
Then, on Saturday, July 2, the first 1,000 fans through the gates for the 7:05 p.m. game against Mahoning Valley will receive a Cowboy Monkey Rodeo Poster Giveaway, presented by Boyles Insurance, in preparation for the return of the Cowboy Monkey Rodeo on July 16.
