Bar-B-Cutie Ice Angels Auditions Saturday

ALLEN, Texas - The Allen Americans Bar-B-Cutie Ice Angels are holding preliminary and semifinal auditions for the dance team this Saturday, Aug. 14, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at Legacy Dance Center in Frisco.
The Ice Angels are the promotional dance team for the Allen Americans. They perform dance routines at Americans games and events throughout the Dallas metroplex, such as Allen USA Celebration and Taste of Dallas. The squad also represents the team at community and charity events.
Registration for auditions begins at 1:00 p.m. Applications are available on the Americans' website at www.allenamericans.com/iceangels, but walkups will be accepted. Walkups should bring photographs of themselves and $20 to accompany the applications. All participants will learn a short routine to perform for judges. They are also required to give a short introduction.
Potential Ice Angels should bring a picture ID, water and snacks with them, as well as any necessary hair and makeup products. Applicants are expected to arrive ready for performance but will have time to freshen up before the audition. The appropriate attire is black dance pants or shorts with a cropped top of any color and tennis shoes. Attendees are asked to wear hose if they are wearing shorts. All tattoos must be covered, and belly rings must be removed.
Final auditions will be held Saturday, Aug. 21, at Dodie's Place Sports Grill in The Village at Allen from 5:00-6:30 p.m.
The squad is looking for a total of 12 girls. Last season, the first-year Bar-B-Cutie Ice Angels were runners-up in the dance team category in the CHL's Best of the Best poll. Also, four squad members made the 2010 MLN MAJOR ATTITUDE Dance Team in MLN Sports Zone's annual issue that recognizes the top 20 minor league dancers and cheerleaders. The Bar-B-Cutie Ice Angels had more members selected than any other club.
There is one last chance for Ice Angels-to-be to learn the routine before auditions. The final prep class will be Wednesday, Aug. 11, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. The cost is $15. Ages 15 and up are welcome to attend, but participants must be 18 years old to audition for the squad. Legacy Dance Center is located at 4040 Legacy Drive, Frisco, TX 75034.
Individual tickets for the 2010-11 season go on sale Sept. 3, but season tickets and partial plans for Allen's second season are on sale now. Ticket prices start as low as $9 per game, and there is free parking at every game. For more information, call 972-912-1000.
The Americans, the Dallas Stars' CHL affiliate, began play in Nov. of 2009 in the newly built Allen Event Center in The Village at Allen.
