
Banjo Bowl music to ears of true blue football fans

WINNIPEG, MB - The 2nd Annual National Post Banjo Bowl in support of the United Way will kick off next weekend at Canad Inns Stadium and it will be music to the ears of Winnipeg Blue Bombers fans.
Festivities for the Sept. 10 contest between the Bombers and arch-rival Saskatchewan Roughriders will get underway at 4 p.m. with a special Pickin' and A Grinnin' Pre-game Party in the south end zone. Party plans include live music, a family picnic, displays and a special salute to Saskatchewan's 100th birthday.
The first 5,000 fans to enter Canad Inns Stadium will receive a National Post souvenir cap courtesy of game day sponsor Sport Select. As well, the first 1,000 fans will receive a free hot dog.
The game itself will kick-off at 7 p.m. The winning team will be awarded the National Post Banjo Bowl trophy. As well, $10,000 will be donated to the United Way courtesy of the winning team.
Toonie bins will be located at all entrances to stadium for anyone wishing to provide support to the United Way.
