Ottawa Renegades News Release

OTTAWA - Ottawa Renegades quarterback Kerry Joseph has used his arm to help the Renegades to a second place finish through the first half of the 2005 CFL season. On Saturday night, the starting pivot threw footballs to help the children in the Capital region.

Joseph was on hand at The BEAR Den Tent at Super Ex on Aug. 27 to autograph novelty Wilson footballs for purchase (at a minimum donation of $20 apiece). All 106 footballs available sold quickly, with many patrons offering upwards of $50 to have Joseph - already twice a winner of the Rogers-CFL offensive player of the week award - sign the balls. Purchasers of the footballs also had their picture taken with Joseph. In all, some $2,690 was raised for the Children's Fund.

This is not the only community initiative that Joseph is involved with. He also spearheads the "Kerry's Kids" initiative - sponsored by Cognos - which offers tickets and a suite to each Renegades home game for youth from the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa.

Ottawa returns to action on Friday, September 2 against the Montreal Alouettes at Percival Molson Stadium. The Renegades return to play on their home turf on Thursday, September 8 for a Week 11 affair against the B.C. Lions at Frank Clair Stadium. Tickets are available either at the Renegades ticket office (1015 Bank Street), on the Internet (http://www.capitaltickets.ca), by phone (613.599.3267 or 877.788.3267), any Sports Experts location in the Ottawa and Gatineau regions as well as the Corel Centre Box Office in Kanata.
