Hamilton, Ontario - Hamilton Tiger-Cats quarterback Danny McManus has been named CFL Offensive Player of the Week after his impressive aerial performance during Friday night's 41-39 victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

"This is well deserved," said offensive coordinator Jamie Barresi. "Danny made some great throws and his leadership inside the huddle was an integral part of the team's success."

McManus, making his first start since suffering a thumb injury against the Edmonton Eskimos on July 30th, completed 20 of 29 attempted passes for 440 yards and three touchdowns, including a 71-yard strike to D.J. Flick on the Ticats first play from scrimmage.

The 16-year veteran is in his eighth season with the Ticats and has recorded 51,964 passing yards and 253 touchdowns in 269 career CFL games. Earlier this season, McManus passed Ron Lancaster for second place on the CFL's All-Time Passing Yards list.

The Ticats' (1-8) host the Toronto Argonauts (6-3) at Ivor Wynne Stadium on Monday, September 5th for the annual Labour Day Classic. The game will be broadcasted live on AM 900 CHML.
