Inland Empire 66ers News Release

San Bernardino, CA - Inland Empire catcher Jett Bandy is returning to the active roster after a week on the disabled list with a left knee contusion. He will be replacing Carlos Lugo who is going on the disabled list with a strained right forearm.

Bandy was coming into his own when he fouled a ball off his knee July 6th. In the five games prior he was batting .500 (9-for-18) with five RBI and five runs scored. His batting average had jumped 33 points in the past month. He will start tonight for the Inland Empire 66ers behind the plate.

Carlos Lugo appeared in one game for the 66ers behind the plate before straining his forearm. He went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts against the Visalia Rawhide in his first appearance in the California League.

Inland Empire has a fantastic giveaway scheduled for Sunday, July 15th, when San Bernardino Recycle presents an Angels Water Bottle featuring Angels Ace Jered Weaver. Tickets can be purchased at the 66ers box office and online at www.66ers.com. For more information on the Inland Empire 66ers please contact Sam Farber, Director of Broadcasting, at 909-495-7632.
