Quad Cities River Bandits News Release

The River Bandits have now lost four straight after getting swept in Saturday's doubleheader with the Bees in Burlington. The Bees scored the day's first four runs and never looked back. They won the first game 5-3 before shutting out the River Bandits 4-0 in the second game.

Trevor Rosenthal (2-5) allowed three earned runs, four total, over four innings in the start for the Bandits in game one. He walked five and struck out five in the losing effort. Tyler Vail didn't factor into the decision after working 4 1/3 innings and allowing just two runs, one earned, on four hits. Pedro Vidal (3-1) picked up the win out of the bullpen and allowed just one run over the final 2 2/3 innings.

The River Bandits scattered five hits and put up single tallies in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Nick Longmire provided the biggest offensive spark of the game by hitting his fourth home run of the year in the sixth inning.

In game two, Nate Long (3-0) combined with Drew Tyson to shut out the Bandits. Long work six scoreless innings and allowed only four hits and walked one and struck out three. Burlington scored all four of their runs against the Bandit starter Zach Russell (1-5). Of the four runs, only two were earned. He walked five and struck out six in the loss. Starlin Rodriguez (2-for-3) and Greg Garcia (2-for-3) combined for the River Bandits only four hits.

Both teams continue their series on Sunday when the River Bandits send lefty Anthony Ferrara against righty Nate Long. First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m. in Burlington.
