Baltimore Blast: 5-2 Second place in the Eastern Division Harrisburg Heat: 1-6 Fourth place in the Eastern Division Season Series: Baltimore leads 1-0
Mississauga Metrostars: 2-6 Third place in the Eastern Division Season Series: Baltimore leads 2-0
Baltimore Players to Watch: The Blast are looking to continue their unbeaten home record since settling in at SECU Arena. Midfielder Jonatas Melo currently leads all Blast players in assists (8) and points scored (12). Melo currently ranks fifth in all of the MASL in assists. Forward Josh Hughes is enjoying an excellent start to his season with six goals, ranking most on the team. Hughes has nearly tripled his point total from last year in only one less game played so far this season.
Blast Forward Vini Dantas will look to extend his hot streak after totaling four points last Saturday versus the Harrisburg Heat. Defender Adriano Dos Santos is coming off of a hot performance versus the Harrisburg Heat where he recorded three assists in the game. Midfielder Tony Donatelli currently ranks second on the team in points per game with 1.7. William Vanzela continues to be one of the best goalkeepers in the MASL with a 4.12 goals against average and a .724 save percentage, which both rank fourth in all of the MASL.
The Blast will be without Lucas Roque and Daniel Peruzzi as they recover from their knee injuries. The Blast are coached by Head Coach Danny Kelly and Assistant Coach David Bascome.
The Competition- Harrisburg Heat Harrisburg will return to SECU Arena Saturday as they look to get revenge for their loss last time out against the Blast. Ricardo Carvalho leads the Harrisburg Heat in points, goals, and assists through the first seven games this season, and will look to enact his will on the Blast defense. Forward Tavoy Morgan will look to build upon his strong performance last time out that included two goals versus the Blast.
Midfielder Dominic Francis scored a goal for the Heat last game versus the Blast to total seven points on the season, which is tied for second on the team. Former Blast defender Nelson Santana leads the Heat in blocked shots with six. Daniel Villela ranks second on the Heat in assists through their first seven games. Harrisburg is coached by former Blast player Pat Healey and Assistant Coach Gino Diflorio
The Competition- Mississauga Metrostars Mississauga returns to Baltimore for the second time this season looking for their first win against the Blast. The Canadian National Team's all -time leading goal scorer Dwayne De Rosario currently ranks third in the Eastern Division in points scored with fourteen. Molham Babouli is enjoying an equally as good start to his season with twelve points scored, which ranks fourth in the Eastern Division. Damion Graham rounds out a strike partnership that is as good as it gets in the MASL, as he has accumulated ten points so far.
Midfielder Joshua Paredes is currently tied for fourth place among all MASL players in blocked shots with ten. He will play alongside midfielder Marco Rodriguez who has accumulated nine points so far in the season, the most of any Metrostar midfielder. The Metrostars are coached by Head Coach Phil Ionadi and Assistant Coach Milodrag Akmadzic-Backo.
