Balanced Attacks Guides Storm to 4-1 Win over Omaha

Kearney, Neb. - Four Tri-City Storm players scored and Dayton Rasmussen made 21 saves in victory on his birthday, steering the Storm to a 4-1 victory over the Omaha Lancers Friday at the Viaero Center.

Adam Goodsir scored his first USHL goal in the opening frame and the Storm rolled, taking a 2-0 edge into first intermission and tacking on two more goals in the third. Linus Weissbach scored his third goal and added an assist. Charlie Kelleher and Bryan Yoon also scored.

Alex Limoges extended his season-long point streak to eight games with an assist. Defenseman Joseph Campolieto had two assists, his first multi-point game.

The Storm has points in five straight games, a season high. Tri-City has not lost in regulation since October 9 when it fell at Omaha.

Rasmussen finished up his 18th birthday with nine stops in the third. Jacob Acton took the loss with 31 stops.

Goodsir's first league tally came on a tapped shot at 8:58 of the first. Danny DiGrande led the rush and dished to Wyllum Deveaux. The 16-year-old Deveaux backhanded the puck net front to the waiting Goodsir.

An 18-year-old from Okemos, Michigan, Goodsir led the Wichita Falls Wildcats (NAHL) with 28 goals in 2015-16.

On the Storm's final first-period rush, a marvelous deke at the attacking blue line by Weissbach faked out the Lancers defense. On the ensuing two-on-one Weissbach fed to Kelleher and the 19-year-old wristed the puck to the top right pocket with six seconds left. Campolieto earned the secondary assist and Tri-City held a 2-0 edge at first break.

Kelleher has one goal and five points in his last four games. He's a member of the Storm's "first-round line", consisting of three USHL first-round picks: Kelleher, Limoges and Wyatt Bongiovanni.

The Storm outshot Omaha, 14-4, in the second and held a 23-13 advantage heading into the final frame. At the end of the second, Filip Rydstrom was assessed five-minute match penalty for removing an opponent's helmet.

Tri-City started the third with a 4-on-3 advantage and Bryan Yoon chipped in with a power-play goal to place the Storm ahead, 3-0, at 1:44 of the third. Tri-City has man-up goals in seven of eight games.

Omaha's Filip Suchy struck with a short-handed tally 2:13 later to pull Omaha within one. About eight minutes later, Weissbach responded with an even-strength goal to restore the Storm's three-goal lead.
