Bagnall, Likens Assigned To Reading

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have assigned defensemen Drew Bagnall and Jeff Likens to the ECHL's Reading Royals, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.

Bagnall, 23, is awaiting his professional debut as he was injured in the Monarchs preseason game on September 29 against the Portland Pirates. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound native of Oakbank, Manitoba, played for the St. Lawrence University Saints from 2003-07. Bagnall collected 72 points (19-53=72) and 235 penalty minutes in 140 career Saints games. He signed as an unrestricted free agent with the Kings on August 23, 2007, and is healthy as he joins the Royals.

Likens, 22, has two assists, two penalty minutes and a plus/minus of plus-1 in four games with the Monarchs this season. The 5-foot-11, 178-pound native of Barrington, Illinois, appeared in 10 regular season games with Manchester during the 2006-07 season and collected six points (3-3=6) and two penalty minutes. In six playoff games with the Monarchs last season, Likens registered two assists and four penalty minutes. He began his professional career with the Monarchs after completing four years at the University of Wisconsin where he recorded 56 points (9-47=56) and 194 penalty minutes in 159 games from 2003-07.
