The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced they have recalled goaltender Julien Ellis from the Victoria Salmon Kings.

Ellis, 21, has appeared in one game so far this season with Victoria where he collected a 2-1 overtime victory over the Idaho Steelheads on Oct. 19/07. As a result, the Sorel, PQ native has a goals against average of 0.98 and save percentage of .972 after the 35-save performance. In two seasons, Ellis has appeared in 38 games with Victoria where's posted a record of 22-14-2 with a goals against average of 3.15 and a save percentage of .914. Last season, Ellis was named the ECHL All-Star Game in his rookie year. He has also played in eight career games with the Moose, where he's 1-7-0 with a 3.37 goals against average and a save percentage of .884.

Ellis was originally Vancouver's sixth round draft choice, 189th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
