IceHogs to Award Hometown Heroes

This Veteran's Day, the Rockford IceHogs, WQRF Fox 39 and WTVO-Channel 17 will be honoring local men and women who have made a difference in the Rockford community. As part of this Hometown Heroes night, the IceHogs want you to tell us about your Hometown Hero. From soldiers to teachers, coaches to firemen, in 1,000 words or less, tell us who your hero is and why.
The IceHogs will have 20 finalists that will be voted on by the public online at www.mystateline.com. At the game on Sunday, November 11 the IceHogs will honor the 20 finalists and award the following prizes to the top 5 winners:
All 20 finalists will receive a $20.00 Damon's gift certificate and a $20.00 McDonald's certificate.
The top 5 winners will receive the certificates as well as a team autographed hockey stick and a $100.00 IceHogs merchandise certificate.
The grand prize winner will win all of the above plus a team autographed authentic jersey and 2 round trip tickets from Allegiant Air.
All submissions are due by tomorrow Friday, October 26 at 5:00 p.m. Please be sure to provide contact information when you submit your nomination. Finalists will be contacted by Monday, October 29. Voting will begin on Monday, October 29 and run through Friday, November 9. Finalists must be present at the IceHogs game November 11 to win.
