B-Sens End Season with 5-0 Shutout

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators finished their regular season with a 5-0 shutout over the Rochester Americans in front of a home crowd of 4,436.

Derek Grant opened the scoring 4:53 into the first period off assists from Danny Hobbs and Troy Rutkowski. After outshooting the Americans 12-6 in the first, the B-Sens went on to make it a 2-0 lead 8:02 in the second period. Rutkowski put home his second goal of the season off assists from Buddy Robinson and Ryan Dzingel. Scott Greenham stopped 10 shots to preserve the B-Sens lead going into the second intermission.

Binghamton scored two goals 26 seconds apart a little over six minutes in the third period. Shane Prince scored his 28th goal of the season at the 6:05 mark followed by Alex Guptill putting his 9th goal away at 6:31. Cole Schneider added to his team-lead in goals with his 29th of the season with 6 minutes left to play in the game off assists from Carter Camper and Prince pushing the final score to 5-0.

Greenham stopped 30 shots in his second shutout of the year while Rochester's Anthony Peters had 31 saves in the losing effort.

Rutkowski, Schneider, Prince and Dzingel finished with a multi-point game while five other B-Sens tallied a single point to finish off the year.
