BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Mar. 20, 2011) - David Ullstrom's deflection with 28 seconds remaining in regulation forced overtime for a fourth consecutive game, but Kaspars Daugavins spoiled the Sound Tigers comeback with the game-winning goal 4:13 into overtime as the Binghamton Senators defeated the Bridgeport Sound Tigers 4-3 at Webster Bank Arena on Sunday evening. Binghamton improves to 36-27-3-4. The Sound Tigers earn a point in their fifth straight game with the overtime loss and now stand at 23-36-4-7.

Binghamton controlled the puck early thanks to two Sound Tiger penalties, but the penalty kill remained strong as well as Sound Tigers goaltender Joel Martin. The Senators caught a break on even strength when center Ryan Potulny found right winger Ryan Keller who snuck in front behind Dylan Reese and Benn Olson. Keller put it past the stick side of Martin for the 1-0 lead 13:02 into the period. Bridgeport got two power-plays of its own on the but were held scoreless, and Binghamton finished the period with a 16-8 advantage in shots and 1-0 lead.

The Sound Tigers evened the score 7:32 into the period when left winger Justin DiBenedetto deflected a shot by center David Ullstrom. Brust blocked the deflection but the rebound came right back to the stick of DiBenedetto who put it to the back of the net to tie Rhett Rakhshani for the team lead in goals with 17. After successfully keeping the Senators off the board in the first on the power-play, the second best power-play squad in the league broke through. Binghamton defenseman Patrick Wiercioch passed the puck from the slot to an open Ryan Potulny in the right circle for the one-time goal past Martin. The power-play goal put the Senators up 2-1 and they held a 25-17 shot advantage after 40 minutes.

The Sound Tigers drew even when Jeremy Colliton found the rebound in front of Brust and knocked it home for his 14th goal of the season to even the score with 12:06 left in regulation. Binghamton retook the lead with 9:39 to go when Keller scored his second goal of the night, this time via the power play to give the Sens a 3-2 advantage. The Sound Tigers pulled Joel Martin with just over a minute remaining, and for the third straight night the Sound Tigers tied the game with a late third period goal. Mark Katic fired from the blue line above the left circle, and David Ullstrom's perfect deflection fluttered by Brust with 29 seconds remaining to send the game to overtime for the fourth time in five nights. However, Daugavins scored the game-winner with 47 seconds left in overtime as he took a pass from Keller through the slot and fired the puck past Joel Martin's reach to give the Sens the 4-3 OT win.

Barry Brust made 27 saves to earn his 27th win of the season. Joel Martin made 31 saves in the loss.

The Sound Tigers return to action next Friday night at 7 p.m. when they head to the Cumberland County Civic Center to face the Portland Pirates.
