LAST GAME: The Trenton Thunder offense erupted for 16 hits, including nine in their eight-run eighth inning, to defeat the Binghamton Mets 10-1 last night. Mark Cohoon put up seven strong innings before allowing five straight hits to start the eighth. The southpaw surrendered a pair of two-run home runs in the frame to Corban Joseph and Luke Murton. Erik Turgeon entered and allowed three more runs. The B-Mets scored their only run on an RBI double from Juan Lagares in the eighth inning. Shaeffer Hallkept the B-Mets in check over 6.2 scoreless innings to collect his third win and snap a three-game losing streak.

STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP: RHP Collin McHugh (4-2, 2.40) makes his team-leading eighth start of the season. The righty comes off a no-decision against the New Britain Rock Cats in his previous start on May 9. He allowed just one run on six hits and struck out five over seven innings. McHugh's only blemish was a solo home run allowed to Wilkin Ramirez. The Atlanta native has held opponents to a .205 batting average and has the tenth-best ERA in the Eastern League. McHugh, an 18th round draft pick by the Mets in 2008, was the B-Mets Pitcher of the Year last year after going 8-2 with a 2.89 ERA over 16 starts.

RHP Brett Marshall (4-1, 3.27) takes the mound for his eighth start of the season. He collected the win in his last start, tossing six shutout innings against the Portland Sea Dogs on May 10. The righty allowed just two hits and struck out four. The Texas native is on a three-game winning streak and has not lost since April 12. Selected in the sixth round of the 2008 draft by the Yankees out of Ross S. Sterling HS in Baytown, Texas, Marshall is in his fifth year of pro ball and first at Double-A. He went 9-7 with a 3.78 ERA in a career-high 26 starts with the Tampa Yankees (High-A) last season.

LOOK IN THE BRIGHT SIDE: The B-Mets saw several players extend personal hitting streaks last night. Matt den Dekker's double in the eighth pushed his streak to 10 games, tied with Jefry Marte for the longest by any B-Met in 2012. Juan Lagares and Eric Campbell both notched their hitting streaks to eight games. Juan Centeno has hit safely in five straight games.

A ROUGH INNING: The Thunder collected nine hits and scored eight runs in the eighth inning last night. It was the most runs the B-Mets have allowed in one inning since they surrendered eight on September 5, 2010 in the 3rd inning against the Harrisburg Senators.

ANOTHER HUGE MARGIN: Nineteen of Binghamton's 36 games have been decided by four runs or more (53%). They have gone 12-7 in those contests. Only the Erie SeaWolves have played in more lopsided games (20).

THUNDER ROLLING: The Trenton Thunder hit two home runs in last night's game. They now lead the league with 42 longballs on the year. Erie and Bowie sit in second with 29 each.

GET AHEAD, STAY AHEAD: Trenton starting pitcher Shaeffer Hall threw a first-pitch strike to the first 22 batters he faced. Hall did not walk a batter and reached three balls in just one count. He threw 62 of his 87 pitches for strikes.

LAGARES TURNING IT AROUND: Since batting .232 on May 4, B-Mets outfielder Juan Lagares has used an eight-game hitting streak to raise his average 51 percentage points. Lagares has had five multi-hit games during the streak.

BUMPY STRETCH: Since starting the season by going 5-for-10, B-Mets second baseman Reese Havens has gone 2-for-41 (.049) over his last 10 games with 14 strikeouts.

NEXT GAME PREVIEW: The B-Mets wrap up their three-game series against the Trenton Thunder tomorrow night at 6:35 PM. RHP Zack Wheeler takes the mound for Binghamton against RHP Cory Arbiso.
