Erie, PA - The Erie SeaWolves used a pair of solo homers and solid pitching to outlast the Akron Aeros, 2-1, Wednesday afternoon at Jerry Uht Park.

Erie's Rawley Bishop launched a one-out solo home run in the sixth inning off Akron's Preston Guilmet (1-1) to break a scoreless tie. In the bottom of the eighth, Jordan Lennerton followed suit, also homering to left, to make it 2-0.

Akron (23-14) rallied in the ninth against Michael Morrison, getting an RBI single from Thomas Neal with two outs. With runners on the corners, Morrison recovered to record the final out and strand the tying run at third.

Erie (20-18) took two of three in the series. They have won seven of their last eight game. Akron has dropped five of six, but still sit in first place in the EL West.

Jared Wesson (4-2) started for Erie and worked seven scoreless innings for the win. He gave way to Morrison, who finished for his fourth save.

Two bright spots for the Aeros were starter Brett Brach, who pitched four scoreless innings, and left fielder Jared Goedert, who followed up his 4-4 performance from Tuesday, with a 3-4 effort on Wednesday. Goedert had a triple in the sixth, to go along with a pair of singles, and raised his average to a league-best .395.

The Aeros will now return to Canal Park for the next homestand, which begins on Friday evening at 7:05, against Richmond. LHP T.J. House (1-1, 4.76) is scheduled to pitch for Akron. LHP Mike Kickam (2-3, 2.81) will start for Richmond. All Aeros games are broadcast on Fox Sports 1350 AM and online at www.akronaeros.com.
