LAST GAME: The B-Mets were held to a season-low three hits in their 3-2 loss against the Portland Sea Dogs, 3-2, Wednesday night at NYSEG Stadium. Binghamton went 1-for-9 with men in scoring position, leaving the tying run at third in the ninth inning. Dillon Gee took the loss in the rehab appearance, allowing two earned runs in 6.1 innings. The B-Mets committed two more errors, leading to an unearned run.
BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Luis Cessa makes his eighth start of the year and first against Portland. The righty is coming off back-to-back losses. He allowed five runs and 10 hits in 4.1 innings pitched in Harrisburg. Cessa has allowed three or more runs in each of his last three outings. He has allowed nine of 18 runs in the first two innings of his starts this year. Lefties are batting .343 against the starter.
PORTLAND STARTER: RHP Justin Haley makes his ninth start of the year and first against Binghamton. Haley is coming off a loss, allowing three runs and seven hits in 5.2 innings against Reading last time out. Haley's only win has come on the road. He has pitched to a 3.18 ERA in his last four starts, after beginning the season with a 9.42 ERA in his first four. Lefties are batting .322 against the starter.
STARTING ROTATION: The B-Mets starting rotation is 0-6 with a 5.80 ERA in Binghamton's last nine games. The rotation has one win in the last 14 games and is now 13-15 on the year.
