Northeast Delta Dental Stadium - Manchester, NH - 6:35 PM
LAST GAME: The Binghamton Mets stranded ten runners, including six over the final three innings, in a 4-1 loss to the Portland Sea Dogs in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at NYSEG Stadium. Binghamton settled for a four-game split with the Sea Dogs after taking the first two games of the series. Rainy Lara was touched for three runs on eight hits over five innings in his first loss as a B-Met. Mike McCarthy allowed one unearned run to pick up his second straight win. Noe Ramirez stranded two runners in each of his two scoreless innings and Miguel Celestino worked around a pair of two-out hits to post a scoreless ninth en route to his second save of the season.
BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Tyler Pill makes his fifth start of the season and looks to snap a four-game losing streak. The righty allowed just one run over five innings in his last start, but took a hard-luck loss against the Akron RubberDucks on April 28. Pill allowed a season-low three hits and struck out four in a game the B-Mets lost 4-0. The California native lost to the Fisher Cats earlier this season on April 12. He was tagged for a season-high seven runs on ten hits over 4.2 innings. Selected in the 4th round of the 2011 draft out of Cal State Fullerton, Pill was limited to four starts with the B-Mets last season before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury.
NEW HAMPSHIRE STARTER: RHP Scott Copeland takes the hill for his sixth start of the season and third against the B-Mets. Copeland worked in relief in his last appearance, allowing one run on two hits over 1.1 innings against the Trenton Thunder on May 1. The righty tossed seven shutout innings in his last start against the Reading Fightin Phils on April 26. In two starts versus the B-Mets in 2014, Copeland has gone 0-2 with a 2.35 ERA. In 7.2 innings, he's fanned three and allowed a .222 opponent batting average. Originally selected in the 21st round of the 2010 draft by the Baltimore Orioles, Copeland signed with the Blue Jays as a Minor League free agent in July 2012.
NO OFFENSIVE HELP: In his four starts the season, the B-Mets have supplied Tyler Pill with just eight total runs of support. Pill has started both of Binghamton's shutout losses this season. On average, Pill is receiving 2.0 runs of support per game, the fewest among Binghamton's six starters.
HIT PARADE: The B-Mets pitching staff surrendered 40 hits to the Portland Sea Dogs in their last series. It's the most hits the B-Mets have allowed in a four-game stretch since they gave up 42 hits in their final four games of the 2013 season (including postseason). The B-Mets have allowed an average of 10.2 hits per game in their last five games.
BACK AT NDDS: The B-Mets return to Northeast Delta Dental Stadium for the second time this season. They took three of four in the ballpark on their first road trip of the season in April. The B-Mets will make their third and final trip to Manchester in eleven days.
LOSING STREAK: The B-Mets have dropped two straight games. They have not lost more than two in a row this season.
AGAINST THE FISHER CATS: The B-Mets have gone 5-2 versus New Hampshire this season, winning both series this year. Binghamton has compiled a .283 team batting average and a 2.47 staff ERA in their first seven meetings. The Fisher Cats have hit just .217 as a club against the B-Mets in 2014.
FISHER CATS SCOUT: New Hampshire enters this series having dropped four in a row, including a three-game sweep at the hands of the New Britain Rock Cats. The Fisher Cats have dropped six of their last seven games.
NEXT GAME PREVIEW: The B-Mets continue their three-game series against the Double-A Blue Jays Tuesday night at 6:35 PM. RHP Hansel Robles gets the nod for Binghamton against LHP Matt Boyd.
