LAST GAME: The New Britain Rock Cats packed all their offense into the seventh inning to hand the B-Mets a 3-0 loss at New Britain Stadium last night. It was Binghamton's sixth shutout loss of the season. Evan Bigleybroke a scoreless game with a leadoff home run in the seventh inning against B-Mets starter Collin McHugh. Chris Herrmann added a two-run double later in the inning against reliever Brad Holt. New Britain starter Logan Darnell scattered seven hits over seven shutout innings to collect his fifth win. Luis Perdomo left the bases loaded in a scoreless eighth and Bobby Lanigan threw a shutout ninth to earn his third save.

STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP: RHP Zack Wheeler (3-2, 2.15) makes his eighth start of the season and first against the Rock Cats. The right-hander has won three consecutive starts and has not allowed more than two earned runs in any game this season. Wheeler defeated the Trenton Thunder in his previous start on May 17. The Georgia native allowed two runs on two hits and struck out eight over a season-best seven innings.

RHP David Bromberg (1-1, 3.94) makes his eleventh appearance of the season and sixth start. Bromberg began the season in the bullpen and contributed with one spot start on April 17. He became a full-time member of the rotation in late April. The righty suffered his first loss in his previous start against the New Britain Rock Cats on May 17. He allowed three runs on nine hits over 6.2 innings of work. Bromberg had a 20-inning scoreless streak snapped by the Fisher Cats in his last start.

A LITTLE HELP WOULD BE NICE: The Binghamton Mets have not scored a run of support with Collin McHugh on the mound in 18 straight innings, spanning three starts. Their last run came in the second inning on May 9 against New Britain.

SHUT DOWN, SHUTOUT: The B-Mets' shutout loss last night was their sixth of the season and second on the roadtrip. They have been kept off the scoreboard three times in their last ten games. Their nine hits last night matched a season-high for hits in a shutout loss.

BETTER UNDER PRESSURE: B-Mets starter Zack Wheeler has held opponents to a .194 batting average this season, the third-best in the league. With runners on base, opponents are hitting .164. Wheeler has allowed just two hits with runners in scoring position (.074) and has not allowed a hit with runners in scoring position and two outs (0-for-12).

TOPS OF THE LEAGUE: In seven Double-A starts, Zack Wheeler has compiled a 2.15 ERA, the sixth-best average in the league. He's tied with Collin McHughfor fourth in the league with 45 strikeouts and leads Eastern League starters by averaging 10.75 K/9IP.

RISE AND SHINE: The B-Mets answer the bell for their earliest start time of the season to date. Binghamton has gone 9-4 in day games this season.

SKIDDING AGAINST THE ROCK CATS: The B-Mets have now lost four straight games against New Britain. Their last win at New Britain Stadium came on July 11, 2011 when they completed a four-game series sweep with a 5-3 win.

DON'T MIND THE DAY: Zack Wheeler has made one start during the day this season. He picked up his first Double-A win against the Erie SeaWolves on April 29 in a game that started at 1:35 PM. Wheeler allowed just one run on two hits over 5.2 innings.

AVOIDING THE SERIES LOSS: The B-Mets look to avoid the series loss to the Rock Cats. Binghamton has not lost a series since they dropped both games of a rain-shortened series against the Rock Cats back at NYSEG Stadium on May 8 and 9. Binghamton has lost six series this season.

NEXT GAME PREVIEW: The B-Mets complete their week-long roadtrip tomorrow morning with first pitch scheduled for 10:35 AM.
