BINGHAMTON, NY - The Reading Fightin Phils pounded out 15 hits in their 14-5 win over the Binghamton Mets Sunday at NYSEG Stadium. The 14 runs allowed matched a season-high for the B-Mets, as Reading scored four or more runs in three different frames. Michael Conforto went 3-for-4 with his first career Double-A home run.

Binghamton drew first blood in the bottom of the first. Gavin Cecchini drew a walk in front of a Conforto double. Brock Peterson then drove in his fifth run of the series with a sacrifice fly to left.

With one out and two aboard, Reading got on the board on a Peterson error at first. After the two runners were sacrificed into scoring position, Roman Quinn gave Reading the lead on Peterson's second error of the inning. The next batter, JP Crawford, doubled to right to cap off the four run frame.

Binghamton would draw even in the home half. LJ Mazzilli led off the inning with a double and moved to third on a Eudy Pina single. Albert Cordero then drove in a run with an infield single. After a Seth Lugo sacrifice bunt pushed two into scoring position, Jared King got the B-Mets within one on a groundout to third. Cecchini followed with a single to right, tying the game at four.

Reading took the lead right back in the third, getting five straight baserunners with two outs in the frame. Rene Garcia doubled to left, giving Reading the lead back. Gustavo Pierre then singled off Josh Rodriguez's glove at third base, allowing Garcia to score. After walking the pitcher, Lugo allowed a two run triple to Quinn. The next batter, Crawford, capped the five run frame with a single to center.

After retiring nine in a row, Tom Windle allowed the first home run of the year for Michael Conforto, a line drive that just cleared the left field wall.

Already leading 9-5, Reading put the game away with their third multiple-run inning in the eighth. Adam Kolarek, working in his first inning of relief, uncorked a wild pitch to the backstop, allowing Quinn to score from third. After back-to-back singles, Brodie Greene drove in both runners with a double to right field. Garcia would then add his fourth hit of the game, an RBI double to left.

Crawford later added his first career Double-A home run in the ninth inning, giving Reading a 14-5 lead.

Binghamton ended the seven game homestand with just one win.

Tom Windle (2-3) got the win, despite allowing five runs in five innings. Seth Lugo (2-3) took the loss, allowing nine runs, six of which were earned, in five innings. The B-Mets have lost four of his last five starts.

The B-Mets (27-29) are off Monday before heading to Bowie for a three game series with the Baysox, beginning Tuesday at 6:35 PM. RHP Rainy Lara (3-2, 3.91) gets the start for Binghamton, against RHP Elih Villanueva (4-4, 2.77). The Horizons Federal Credit Union Pregame Show can be heard starting at 6:20 PM on Newsradio 1290 WNBF and the Binghamton Mets channel on TuneIn.
