Rockford Aviators News Release

Loves Park, ILLINOIS - The Rockford Aviators fell to the Florence Freedom once again Wednesday night, dropping the 2nd game of their 3-contest home set by a score of 10-1. Florence starter Casey Henn limited the Aviators to 1 run over 7 innings, and he got solid support from his offense to earn the W.

Roberto Padilla took to the hill to start for Rockford. After surrendering 2 in the 2nd, he put up scoreless 3rd and 4th frames. In the 5th though, the Freedom once again were able to get to him, loading the bases and scoring once before Padilla exited the game. They would put up 2 more in the frame to open up a 5-0 advantage.

Will Du'Pont was the only member of the Aviators who was able to get to Henn, tagging the Freedom right-hander for 2 hits, including an RBI single that brought home Elijah Trail in the 7th. The Aviators managed to string together 4 hits against Henn's reliever Brain Davis, but it was not enough, as the Freedom managed to pile on 5 more in the 7th and 8th to build an insurmountable margin.

The win was the 18th of the year for the Freedom and the loss was the 14th of the year for the Aviators. The two teams close out their series in Loves Park tomorrow. First pitch is 6:35 pm. The game will feature a red-white-and-blue "America Rocks!" promotion. The Aviators will give away Uncle Sam bobbleheads to the first thousand fans at Aviators Stadium, and there will be a fireworks display after the game. It will also be $1 beer Thursday.
