
Aulie, Clark Two-Time Award Winners

Brandon, Manitoba - Captain Keith Aulie and graduating center Andrew Clark were 2-time winners Sunday night as the Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings hosted their annual Awards Banquet at the Victoria Inn.
The 51st player to wear the "C" in franchise history, Aulie was named winner of the Meighen Haddad & Co. Most Valuable Player of the Year Award as well as the Wheat Kings 217; Executive Trophy that goes to the hockey club's Top Defenceman.
A 4-year WHL veteran, Clark took home the Maple Leaf John Scott Kent and the Art Marshall Memorial trophies for being chosen the Wheat Kings' Most Sportsmanlike and Top Graduating Player.
Other winners Sunday included former Medicine Hat Tiger Matt Lowry (Rob Stouffer Most Inspirational Player of the Year Trophy), Stephane Robidoux (Maggie Janz Scholastic Player of the Year), defenceman Brodie Melnychuk (Dennis Truscott UCT Most Improved Player), Glenboro's Cale Jefferies (McDonalds Frank King Most Community Minded Player), Matt Calvert (Tri-Star Screenprinting Hardest Working Player), 16-year old Mark Stone (CKX TV Rookie of the Year), right-winger Scott Glennie (Manitoba Hydro Turk Broda Top Manitoba Player) and 17-year old center Brayden Schenn captured the Brandon Sun Scoring Trophy, by finishing the year with
Earlier this week, Jay Fehr was presented the Precision Toyota Unsung Hero of the Year award, Brayden Schenn was named this year's recipient of The Capitol Theatre Most Popular Player and Aulie was the Fans' Choice for Shoppers Drug Mart Player of the Year.
The Wheat Kings, who finished in second place in the WHL's Eastern Division and third in the Conference, will now begin preparations for their best of seven opening round playoff series, scheduled to begin next weekend at Westman Place against the Kootenay Ice.
