
Hiller Relieved of Duties

Chilliwack Bruins News Release
The Chilliwack Bruins announced today that Head Coach Jim Hiller has been relieved of his duties effective immediately. The move was made after the Bruins finished the regular season with a record of 19-46-2-5andfailed to qualify for the post season.
The announcement was made by Bruins President and Governor Darryl Porter. "Our on ice product needs to find the excitement and energy that was evident in our first two seasons," stated Porter. "Our fans have been extremely loyal and patient. They deserve better results than what we have delivered over the past 18 months. It's time for a change of direction and a new approach."
"We greatly appreciate the contributions that Jim has made during the past three years. We recognize and thank him for his hard work and dedication to creating a positive atmosphere both on and off the ice. We wish Jim nothing but the best in his future endeavors."
The search for a new Head Coach will begin immediately. "This is an extremely important decision for our franchise and it will not be made in haste," added Porter. "As the hockey season ends for teams at different levels we'll get a better idea of who is available."
