Owen Sound Attack News Release

Tonight, Mark Reeds will return to the city in which he won three Ontario Hockey League Championships in 1978, 1979 and 1980. Reeds and his squad are on the road this evening when they take on the Eastern Conference's Peterborough Petes. The Petes, 15-31-1-1 are currently in a battle with the Belleville Bulls for the 8th and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, however; a lesson from the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds taught the Attack that no team can be taken lightly. "Every team in this league plays to win." said Reeds. "Teams cannot go into games taking their opponents lightly and expect to win. You have to compete each and every night."

After an off day on Friday, the Attack returns to the Bayshore on Saturday to take on Scott Walker's Guelph Storm squad. Guelph, 24-20-4-1, currently occupies the 7th seed in the Western Conference. The two divisional rivals have met five times so far this season, with the Attack holding the three games to two edge on the Storm. The Attack has won both meetings at home against the Storm and is looking for a third straight home win over Guelph. The Attack will also have a special guest on hand for Saturday evening's game as Toronto Maple Leafs legend; Johnny Bower will be dropping the puck. You can also visit Johnny, along with the Attack goaltenders at Heritage Place Shopping Centre on Saturday from 1-3pm.

Sunday afternoon, Bayshore Broadcasting will be "cramming the den" when the Saginaw Spirit visit town. Depending on the outcome of the previous games on the weekend, Sunday afternoon could be a battle for first overall in the Western Conference with the Attack entering the weekend only two points behind the Spirit. The Attack dropped their first meeting of the season at home but rebounded in Saginaw earlier this season with a 7-1 win.

Tickets for Saturday and Sunday's home games can be purchased by visiting the Attack Box Office in the front lobby of the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre, calling (519) 371-7452 or online at www.attackhockey.com .
