Majors Rally Late to Top Spits
February 3, 2011 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Windsor Spitfires News Release
Looking home and cooled and up two goals, the Spitfires suffered yet another late collapse at the hands of the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors on Thursday night.
And that was before Justin Shugg scored the winner in a shootout, giving his new team a 4-3 win over his old team.
Taylor Carnevale scored twice in regulation and Jack Campbell made 34 saves in the loss.
Derek Schoenmakers scored twice late in the third for the Majors to send the game to overtime.
A line of Carnevale, Jeff Brown and Tom Kuhnhackl - that hadn't played together all season - combined for eight points against the country's #2 ranked junior club in one of Windsor's strongest all-around efforts of the season.
