The Owen Sound Attack have named starting netminder Mack Guzda the Huron Tractor Supply Players of the Week for the sixth week of the Ontario Hockey League.

Guzda, a native of Tennessee, was only a rookie on the team in the 2017-18 season and this season is now the Attack's starting goalie at only 17 years old.

In 11 games played, Guzda currently has a save percentage of .878 with a record of 6-5 thus far in the 2018-19 season.

In the sixth week of the OHL season, the Bears faced three teams. Guzda started in two of the three games. The sophomore stopped 25 shots on Friday night in Mississauga for a 5-3 win and 35 shots on Saturday night against the Peterborough Petes in a 5-2 win at home at the Harry Lumley Bayshore.

With two wins this weekend, Guzda improved his career stats with the Attack to a record of 20-11-2-2 with a 3.30 GAA and .879 save percentage.

The Attack will continue the 2018-19 OHL regular season on Friday, Nov. 2 when they head down to Oshawa to take on the Generals for their second match up of the season at the Tribute Communities Centre, a 7:35pm puck drop. Owen Sound's next home game takes place Saturday, Nov. 3 against the London Knights at 7:30pm.
