Attack Hit the Road Headed South
December 7, 2021 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Owen Sound Attack News Release
The Attack will be on the road this week, looking to build off a tight fought split home mini series this past weekend.
Owen Sound has started the month of December with two close losses to the Rangers and Flint followed by their latest grind-it-out rebound win in the second half of the home stand against the Firebirds on Sunday.
This week the Bears hit the southern road for 3 games starting Wednesday against Windsor followed up by a back-to-back in Flint Friday and Saturday.
Against Windsor this year the Attack have split their two games with each team taking advantage of home ice. The key appears to be defense for the Attack against the Spitfires with each of the games against them this season featuring 4 and 5 goal outputs, the only loss coming after surrendering a 7 spot in the WFCU centre.
On the weekend the Attack will look to come away with the season series against Flint who are now tied with Owen Sound in points heading into Wednesday night action. The Firebirds have had mixed results at home this year going 5-5-0. The Attack will be trying to build on their last ten games in which they have had points in 7 of 10. After splitting the series at the Bayshore both teams will be hungry to assert their winning style in the last two meetings of the regular season.
Individually, a couple of Attack players are looking to continue their hot stretches with Deni Goure riding a 5 game point streak while leading the team with 23 points, and William Portokalis holding a point per game average with 8 in his 8 games since coming to the Bears.
Attack Fans can catch all Owen Sound Attack action on RogersTV Grey County Ch. 53, or stream on OHL Live, with the game in Flint on Dec 10th being a free preview. Fans can also listen to the games in Windsor and Flint on 560 CFOS Bear Radio.
The Attack will return to the Bayshore next Wednesday when they face the Kitchener Rangers at 7pm. Tickets for upcoming games can be purchased online or by calling or visiting the McVivar and McComb Sutton Reality Box Office.
The weekend preview is sponsored by Joe Tomatoes in the Galaxy Plaza on the sunset strip.
