Brampton Steelheads News Release

MISSISSAUGA, ON - The Mississauga Steelheads will be partnering for a double-header ticket package with the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA) this holiday season. For just $25 per ticket, see the Steelheads take on the North Bay Battalion on Friday, December 17, and two PWHPA teams face off on Saturday, December 18.

The PWHPA aims to promote, advance and support a viable professional women's hockey league in North America and showcase the most extraordinary women's hockey talents. As its next stop on the Secret® Dream Gap Tour, the PWHPA heads to Toronto and Port Credit for their Kipling Showcase.

"We believe it's time for Corporate Canada to step up to do more to support women in sport. Kipling Group is proud to play its part by sponsoring the Kipling Showcase and the amazing women hockey players of the PWHPA. It's a matter of respect, dignity and creating a more equitable playing field," said Richard Geurts, CEO of Kipling Group.

For the first time this season, the Steelheads host the North Bay Battalion on December 17. The teams last faced each other in North Bay on October 15, which saw heartbreak for the Steelheads' second game of the season.

Since that game, the Steelheads have earned one of the best winning percentages in the league. The Battalion currently sit first in the conference with 32 points. The Steelheads trail just behind them with 28 points, placing them in fourth. However, the Steelheads have three games in hand on North Bay.

On December 18, US Secret® Cup champions Team adidas (Minnesota) and Canadian Secret® Cup champions Team Harvey's (Montreal) go head-to-head in Port Credit. This is the second stop on the PWHPA Secret® Dream Gap Tour.
