Owen Sound Attack News Release

The Owen Sound Attack are preparing for another big weekend that will begin this evening in London when the Attack travel to take on the Knights. The Knights (32-32-4-1) currently occupy the sixth spot in the jam packed Western Conference after a 4-2 win over the Saginaw Spirit on Thursday. There is only eight points separating fourth from eighth in the conference and only three points from fourth to seventh.

The Attack received positive news this week on the injury front. Overage defenseman Matt Stanisz will make his return to the lineup against London while Jesse Blacker will also be in the lineup after leaving last Sunday's game with an undisclosed injury. Veteran goaltender Scott Stajcer is now skating in full equipment and is expected to return to full practice ahead of schedule. Brayden Rose will miss this weekend's games due to an upper body injury and Geoffrey Schemitsch will continue to sit out 3-4 weeks.

Saturday evening, the Attack will host the Guelph Storm in the Special Olympics "Big Ticket" game where local law enforcement members join hands with the Special Olympics to raise funds. The Ontario Hockey League has been recognized as a Major Sponsor of the 2011 Provincial Floor Hockey Championships. The Storm currently sits eighth in the Western Conference and as of right now, would be a first round opponent for the Owen Sound Attack. Game time at the Bayshore Community Centre is 7:30pm and fans are encouraged to buy tickets early. Tickets are available by calling the Attack Box Office at (519) 371-7452, online at www.attackhockey.com or by visiting the Box Office in the front lobby of the Bayshore Community Centre.

Sunday afternoon the Attack will look for redemption against the Oshawa Generals who defeated the Attack here last Sunday night in a shoot-out.
