November 12, 2009 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Owen Sound Attack News Release
The Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League is very pleased to announce the formation of a new partnership with the Society of Energy Professionals- Bruce Power Chapter. The Society of Energy Professionals represents more than 7,000 professional employees in the electricity industry in Ontario, including engineers, scientists, supervisors, finance specialists, and many others. Originally formed in 1948, they have been making improvements to the industry for more than fifty years.
The Society of Energy Professionals support of the Attack is based very heavily upon community youth and recreation. The Society of Energy Professionals has sponsored a new award at the annual Owen Sound Attack Awards BQQ called the "Society of Energy Professionals Players Choice Award" where Attack players will have their vote on their teammate who best demonstrates leadership, work ethic and positive attitude on the ice, in the dressing room and in the community.
The Society of Energy Professionals also supports minor sports in the area and has sponsored an award that will go to the Owen Sound Minor Hockey Group Attack Player of the Month. Coaches from the Minor Attack teams will submit their player's statistics and a brief explanation as to why that player is deserving. The winner will be decided upon by the Attack Coaching Staff and Players. A $50.00 gift card for the Owen Sound Attack Merchandise Shop will be given to each winning child as well as 2 tickets for the child and a parent/guardian to an Owen Sound Attack home game where a special on-ice presentation will be made to him/her.
Over 100 tickets have also been presented to Port Elgin/Kincardine area schools on behalf of the Society of Energy Professionals. "This is a great partnership for not only the Attack but for all of the Schools, Minor Hockey and the community." Stated Attack Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Brent Fisher. "It's really nice to get the support from that area. I know there are a lot of kids who will really enjoy those tickets."
The Attack is back in action at home this Saturday, November 14th when they play host to the Brampton Battalion.
