Owen Sound Attack News Release

The Owen Sound Attack have acquired forward Matthew Struthers from the North Bay Battalion in exchange for three draft picks.

The North Bay overage forward began his career in Owen Sound before being moved to the Battalion in 2018. In 25 games this season with the Troops, Struthers has scored ten times and added ten assists for 21 points.

The picks headed to North Bay are all of Owen Sound's and include a 2nd in 2022, a 3rd in 2023 and a 6th in 2024.

The trade was a welcome return for the overage forward: "I'm really excited to be back in Owen Sound. I think I've grown as a player and as a person since last playing here and it's pretty cool I get the opportunity to finish my OHL career where it started." Struthers adds: "I can't wait to get started and be back at the Bayshore!"

Attack General Manager Dale DeGray is excited to have Struthers back in the Scenic City: "He's a great leader, he's going to make an immediate impact in our room. We have a young group of guys and he's really going to show them what it means to come to the rink every day and perform. He's going to be huge on the ice as well. Matt's only grown since we sent him to North Bay two years ago, and he's going to come back and make a difference for us."

Struthers is expected to be available for the Attack for their Wednesday night game against the Niagara IceDogs. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tickets are available online and at the MacVicar & McComb Sutton Realty Attack Box Office.
