
Atlanta United Signs Laurence Wyke to Short-Term Agreement

ATLANTA - Atlanta United announced today that defender Laurence Wyke has signed a Short-Term Agreement for the club's MLS regular season opener at Nashville SC. Wyke is currently signed to the club's USL Championship team ATL UTD 2.
Wyke, 23, signed with ATL UTD 2 on Feb. 20, 2019 after playing two seasons at Furman University. In his first professional season, Wyke made 29 starts over 26 appearances in USL Championship play. He scored three goals, recorded one assist and led the team in tackles (67) and duels (305). At Furman, Wyke was a two-time All-Southern Conference selection and the 2017 SoCon Player of the Year. He led the Paladins to a 13-7-2 record in 2018 and the SoCon Championship where he assisted the game-winning goal in a 3-0 win over UNC-Greensboro and was named tournament's most outstanding player.
Atlanta United will begin the 2020 MLS regular season Saturday night against Nashville SC in Nashville, Tennessee at Nissan Stadium (8 p.m. EST, FOX, Sports Radio 92-9 The Game).
