ATLANTA THRASHERS RECALL SCOTT FANKHOUSER – BEARS SUMMON BRANT NICKLIN FROM QUAD CITY

HERSHEY – The HERSHEY Bears announced today that the Atlanta Thrashers have recalled goaltender Scott Fankhouser. Consequently, the Bears have recalled goaltender Brant Nicklin from the Quad City Mallards and signed him to a 25-game PTO contract.

It is Fankhouser's first recall to Atlanta this year. He has a career NHL record of 4-12-2 in 23 games played with the Thrashers. He is unbeaten in his last four starts with the Bears (3-0-1-0) and is coming off his first shutout win of the season, a 2-0 whitewashing of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday.

Nicklin is enjoying his second recall to the Bears. He backed up Fankhouser on February 9 and 10 while Phil Sauve was on recall to Colorado. Nicklin is 16-7-0 with a 2.53 goals against average for Quad City this year.

The Bears visit Philadelphia tonight at 7:05 PM before hosting Portland on Sunday at 6:00 PM.
