
Atkinson Has Breakout Game in Loss to Toros

FRISCO, TX, (Feb. 11, 2014) - The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visit Veracruz.mx), hosted the Austin Toros in the first of a double-header at home. Legends' rookie Jeremy Atkinson posted season-highs of 26 points and 11 boards in the team's 89-103 loss.
The two teams kept it close throughout the first quarter with each team gaining only a four-point advantage on the other and the lead changing six times. The Legends came out up by one, but the second quarter took a quick turn in which the Toros went up by as many as 20 points. The Legends fought back to cut the deficit to 11 going into the half but the Toros held onto the momentum never again turning over control.
The Legends shot only 38.6% on the night but had four players in double-digits including two outside the starting lineup. Atkinson was the game's leading scorer and grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds while teammate Booker Woodfox added 21 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists off the bench. Courtney Fells led the Toros with 25 points while Flip Murray added 24 and a game-high 12 rebounds.
