
Cardell Johnson Returns to Austin Toros

Austin, TX Feb. 11, 2014 - The Austin Toros today announced that Cardell "Squeaky" Johnson will return to the team. Johnson (5-10, 180, UAB) was a member of the Toros' 2012 D-League Championship team and has played for the franchise five of its nine seasons.
Johnson's contributions include 211 regular season games for the Toros averaging 7.9 points, 4.5 assists and 2.7 rebounds in 25.9 minutes. He's played in 21 playoff games, nine of which included the championship series where he averaged 8.9 points, 4.3 assists and 2.4 rebounds in 26.9 minutes.
Johnson's professional career began in 2006 in Belgium. He's played for several teams in Mexico throughout his career and most notably, in the NBA in his hometown for the New Orleans Hornets. He played 15 games with the Hornets during the 2011-12 season averaging 1.8 points and 1.5 assists, before heading back to Austin to help the team win its first championship.
