San Angelo Colts News Release


San Angelo, TX - With the Colts still in the playoff hunt with two days left in the season, San Angelo made a move to sure up their pitching staff by reactivating starting pitcher Ezekiel Astacio and placing pitcher and pitching coach Bryan Heaston on the inactive list.

Astacio had just been placed on the inactive list on Friday, August 27. He is 6-8 this season with a 5.80 ERA in 19 appearances, 18 as a starter. Heading into Sunday's game Astacio is second in the ULB in strikeouts with 123, one behind Laredo's Santo Hernandez.

Heaston is 3-4 on the year with a 6.93 ERA. A spot starter, Heaston appeared in 23 games this season including eight as a starter. He started and won last night's game against Amarillo by going 6.1 innings and allowing two runs on six hits while striking out one in San Angelo's 5-2 victory.

Game two between San Angelo and Amarillo is tonight with first-pitch scheduled for 6:05. The Colts will send out Gorman Romero (6-0, 3.73 ERA) who will be making his first start of the season. He will be opposed by Amarillo right-hander Ralph Roberts (6-4, 6.62 ERA). Sunday is also Fan Appreciation Night courtesy of Foster Communications as every fan through the gates will receive a free gift bag while supplies last. Following the game will be a concert featuring The Maurice Davis Band. The broadcast of the game begins with the Kemps Pregame Show at 5:50, and can be heard on 1260 KKSA.
