
Arsenii Sergeev Shines in Storm Victory

SIOUX CITY, IA. - Tri-City Storm goaltender Arsenii Sergeev shined Saturday night in Tri-City's 1-0 overtime victory over the Sioux City Musketeers. Sergeev out-dueled Musketeer netminder Alex Tracy to record his second career USHL shutout. He turned aside all twenty-six Sioux City shots to backstop the Storm to a road win. Mitchell Miller scored the game-winning goal in overtime to give Tri-City the victory. The Storm returns to action tomorrow afternoon in a rematch of tonight's battle with the Musketeers. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:05pm.
Sergeev controlled the game in net from start to finish in a captivating performance. He made eight saves in the opening period, and seven saves in the 2nd period. After denying all eleven of Sioux City's shots in the 3rd period, the game required an overtime session to determine a winner. Mitchell Miller scored his fourth goal of the season twenty-one seconds into overtime to seal the victory for the Storm. Miller's goal was assisted by Vinny Borgesi and Ilya Nikolaev. Borgesi's assist was his fifth of the year. Nikolaev notched his fourth assist of the season on the scoring play.
Tri-City outshot Sioux City 30-26 in the win. The Storm improved to 18-8-1-1 in head-to-head matchups against the Musketeers over the past five seasons in Saturday's victory. Tri-City is now 10-5-1-1 in games played at the Tyson Events Center against the Musketeers during the regular season in the last five years.
The Storm improved to 8-2-0-0 on the season in the victory. Tri-City enters tomorrow afternoon's game as the second-place team in the USHL's Western Conference standings. Alex Tracy stopped 29 of the Storm's 30 shots on goal and recorded the loss in net for Sioux City. He was named the 2nd Star of the game. Arsenii Sergeev was named the 1st Star of the game and Mitchell Miller recorded 3rd Star honors.
