Springfield Armor News Release
Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Armor, presented by MGM Springfield, today announced two roster moves. The Armor re-acquired forward Dennis Horner and claimed guard Thomas Baudinet from the NBA D-League's available player pool. To make room on the roster, the Armor waived Chas McFarland and deactivated Shawn Vanzant.
Horner (6-9, 230, NC State) returns to Springfield after earning All-NBA Development League Third Team honors following the 2011-12 season. Horner appeared in 25 regular season games with the Armor (20 starts), averaging 17.0 points on .471 shooting and 8.5 rebounds in 31.4 minutes per game. In three playoff games (all starts), Horner averaged 21.0 points on .488 shooting and 7.7 rebounds in 37.3 minutes per game. Horner also earned two GATORADE Call-Ups to the then-New Jersey Nets, recording five points and five rebounds in 22 minutes in eight games off the Nets bench. Horner was originally a third round selection (47th overall) in the 2011 NBA Development League Draft. Prior to rejoining the Armor, Horner appeared in three games with the Artland Dragons (Germany-BBL).
Baudinet (6-3, 190, St. Anselm) appeared in 37 games (10 starts) during the 2011-12 NBA D-League season with the Iowa Energy and Fort Wayne Mad Ants, averaging 7.2 points on .455 shooting in 17.9 minutes per game. Baudinet was acquired during the offseason by the Canton Charge from the Mad Ants in exchange for a third round selection in the 2012 NBA D-League Draft, appearing in one preseason game with Canton before being waived prior to the start of the regular season.
Horner and Baudinet will both be available tonight when the Armor host the Canton Charge at 7:00 pm at the MassMutual Center.
