BayHawks Acquire Singletary and Draft Pick

Erie, Pennsylvania, Thursday, January 3 - The Erie BayHawks have acquired forward Mike Singletary from the Rio Grande Valley Vipers and a 2013 second round draft selection from the Sioux Falls Skyforce in a three team deal this afternoon.

In return, the BayHawks sent forward Mychel Thompson and the rights to guard Donald Sloan to Sioux Falls and the Skyforce shipped guard Andrew Goudelock to Rio Grande Valley.

Singletary (6-6, 220, Texas Tech) was selected by Rio Grande Valley with the second pick of the third round in the 2012 NBA Development League Draft. For the season, Singletary is averaging 13.4 points and 5.5 rebounds in 13 games, including nine starts. He has also played professionally in Montenegro, Greece, Uruguay and Belgium.

Erie held the rights to Sloan, who was recently released by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Thompson, Erie's 2011 third round draft selection is averaging 10.3 points and 4.4 rebounds per game this season for the BayHawks.

The BayHawks have also added Erik Daniels to their active roster and placed Brandon Bowdry on the inactive list.

Singletary and Daniels are expected to join the team in time for Friday's game at Maine.
