Reno Bighorns News Release
RENO, NV, Jan. 2, 2013 - The Reno Bighorns return home after a six-game road trip with games this Friday and Saturday. The Bighorns take on the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Friday at 7 p.m. and the Iowa Energy on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Friday is First Responder's Night. The team would like to invite all first responders, including police, firefighters, EMTs, and any emergency response personnel, to come to the game and also participate in the Bighorns first-ever "Two-Ball Tournament."
The Two-Ball Tournament will take place before the game, starting at 2 p.m. at the Reno Events Center. Teams of one adult and one child will have 30 seconds to earn points for made baskets of different values around the court. Teams must alternate shots between the adult and child. The winner of the tournament will be determined at halftime of the Bighorns game that night. The winning team will receive a Reno Bighorns gift pack in addition to two courtside seats to a Bighorns game and 10 tickets to donate to a charity of their choice. For more information, please call Pat Lahlum at 775-853-8234.
Friday's game will also feature $2 beers.
Saturday night is Bruno's 5th birthday. Join Bruno, the Bighorns and some of Bruno's closest mascot buddies, including Alphie and Wolife, for a night of birthday fun. In honor of his birthday, Bruno is excited to give our first 1500 fans a Bighorns scarf to stay warm with for the rest of the season.
"I invite all Bighorns fans to come celebrate Bruno's birthday, help us thank the First Responders and receive a one-of-a-kind Bighorns scarf this weekend while watching the best in professional basketball in northern Nevada!" said Bighorns owner, Herb Santos, Jr.
The annual NBA D-League Showcase also returns to Reno next week, January 7 - 10. Tickets are still available by calling the Bighorns front office at 775-853-8220.
